RCCG Church Abuja Attacked, Looted And Burnt By Suspected Extremists (Photo)

Last Monday was a black day for members of a parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, in Abuja, was invaded and set ablaze by people believed to be religious extremists.

The incident took place around 5am at the Root of David Area Headquarters in Apiawe village, DeiDei, via Kubwa, one of the satellite towns of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The hoodlums were said to have made away with musical instruments and other valuables worth millions of naira belonging to the church before they set it on fire.

Some people, who spoke at the scene to Sunday Vanguard revealed that the attackers were many but their actual number could not be ascertained. “The people came in the morning and stole everything in the church and burnt it down. The worshipers were not in the church when the incident happened as it was very early in the morning,” one of the eyewitnesses, Danjuma Abdullahi, said.

Narrating the story, the Pastor-in-charge of the parish, Pastor Oladele Stephen, said he received a distress call from one of his members, informing him that some fanatics had burnt down the church.

“They made away with our generating set, musical instruments, chairs and microphones and set the building on fire,” he said.

The pastor noted that the church auditorium was also, some weeks ago, attacked by some suspected religious fundamentalists, who broke into the church through the ceiling and made away with six ceiling fans, speakers and microphones.

He added that the matter was reported to the police, saying, however, that nothing was done. “We reported the matter to the police, but no arrest was made,” Stephen said.

The cleric expressed dismay at the unchecked growing religious intolerance even in the Federal Capital Territory, wondering why security operatives appeared to be displaying open sympathy for what he described as ungodly and illegal acts

Oladele explained that, on several occasions, some of the extremists, who own shanties near the church, had provoked the parishioners by burning grass near the place of worship, thus spewing heavy smoke into the auditorium during worship.

“These boys sell and smoke hemp on daily basis near the church,” he added.

While describing the attack as an affront to the Christian community, the pastor stated that the matter had been reported to the provincial headquarters of the church and the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).

The cleric said; “We reported to the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) on Monday around 10am but they have not made any arrest. Instead, they were asking us whether we suspect anyone. The DPO told us that we should just go and assured us that God will help us to recover all the property.”

The DPO in charge of Dei-Dei Police Station was not available for comments

Conducting an on-the-spot assessment at the parish, National President, Youth Wing of CAN (YOWICAN), Daniel Kadzai, said it was unfortunate that the issue of attack on Christians and their churches had not been taken seriously in the country.

“I want to express my disappointment in this government for gross dereliction of duty. The primary role of government is to provide security to its citizens irrespective of religion or ethnicity, but it seems the government has failed in this duty,” he said.

Also speaking on the incident, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) condemned the attack on the Redeemed Church parish, describing it as barbaric.

The Chairman, FCT Chapter of CAN, Rev. Jonah Samson, also called on the Federal Government to take action on what had happened by arresting the culprits and bring them to book, saying this will go a long way to avoid further tension between the two major religions in the country.

Samson said; “I see this as provocation and it is so painful. You don’t need an angel to tell you that a lot of destruction has been done here. “We are hoping that the law will take its course in a situation where you find people who do not have respect for the law. To be very frank, issues like this must be tamed and people who have done this should be arrested and made to face the full wrath of the law. “We expect that government will take action and ensure that they fish out those who are responsible for this act and then we will be satisfied.”

Christ Embassy Pastor Dupes Member Of N4.5m In Port Harcourt

A Port Harcourt-based pastor, Gobari Maxwell, of the Believers’ Love World Ministry aka Christ Embassy Church was yesterday arraigned before an Ikeja High Court for allegedly defrauding one of his members, Osazuwa Okungbowa, of N4.5 million. Maxwell, who superintends over one of the satellite churches led by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, was said to have tricked Okungbowa into believing that he would help him procure two plots of land near the Port Harcourt Polytechnic, Bori Camp.

A detective, Shedrach Ternenge Iyo, attached to the Cyber- Crime Section of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), told the court that the commission received a petition from the complainant sometime in September 2013, alleging that the pastor received N4.5 million from him through his wife’s First Bank account in bid to buy two plots of land.

Iyo, while being led in evidence by the prosecution, A. A. Adebayo, said the accused was not invited by the commission since he couldn’t be reached through the phone but was arrested in Port Harcourt and brought to Lagos for proper investigation.

According to the charge sheet, Maxwell allegedly committed the offence on June 12, 2012 at Ikeja Judicial Division by dishonestly converting the said sum to his personal use. He is facing a one-count charge of stealing contrary to Section 258(a)(b) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, No. 11, 2011.

“During investigation, the agency sent a letter to the two banks which were used for the transaction; a First Bank account belonging to the complainant’s wife and a Diamond Bank account belonging to the pastor, requesting for account statements. “When we received the banks’ response, we analysed both accounts and discovered that the sum transferred for the land purchase was N3.8 million while N700,000 was transferred as a loan to the pastor,” the detective said.

Iyo, however, noted that Okungbowa made the land payments in seven instalments through his wife’s bank account from June24 to May 31, 2012 in the variations of N300,000 and N500, 000 consecutively.

He added: “After volunteering a statement and being read a caution, the pastor confessed to have received the money but claimed he used it to settle his elder brother’s hospital bills, who was brought back to Nigeria from the United States of America (USA) for treatment.”

When asked by the prosecution if the agency visited the said land, Iyo said “we didn’t visit the land since the accused had told us that there was actually no land to visit and besides the area was under grave crises”.

“The pastor told the commission that there is no land and he didn’t have any specific land to buy for him, beside the area he had promised to purchase for him was already having community fights,” the detective added.

Meanwhile, the defence counsel, V. I. P. Nwana, objected to the statement of account which was presented to be tendered as exhibit by the prosecution, arguing that the witness was not the maker of the said document and therefore could not testify to its documentation as exhibit.

Nwana argued that the detective was not a bank operative and under the Evidence Act could only give evidence to the said document if the originator of the document was permanently indisposed to tender it, which was not the case.

Justice Kudirat Jose adjourned the matter till April 13 and 14 for conducting a trial within trial based on the admissibility of the document and continuation of trial.

Shocking!!! Human Blood And Skulls Found In A Church In Imo (Photos)

There was great shock in Ububo -Alia, Awara in Ohaji/Egbema local government area of Imo state when 5 human skulls were discovered in a church called the Ark of Covenant Ministry.

The Authority reports that the general overseer of the church, Pastor Ngozi Odika, was beaten blue-black by irate youths of the area believed to be ex-militants. He was also said to have been beaten on the suspicion of using his church as a spiritual ground for militants who patronize him for spiritual powers.

According to a witness, the breeze blew when his alleged accomplice and girlfriend was caught with some fetish objects by some repentant militants from the area. She was accosted by the militants while on a errand for the pastor. When she was searched, items like human hair, animal horns and other fetish objects were found on her.

The shocked youths pounced on her, beating her mercilessly before dragging her to the pastor at the church where he was already waiting for her. The witness further disclosed that the beating continued with the pastor before he was handed to the vigilante in the area.

The witness said: “As the Pastor’s altar was later vandalised, other revelations emerged. In his altar was found 5 human heads buried alongside some other skulls of animals.”

The youths also discovered a basin of blood and fingernails at a discrete area of the church. Odika was also alleged to use strands of hair of babies dedicated at the church for his devilish rituals. "Disabled German Lady Healed At TB Joshua's Church" (Photos)

A severely disabled young lady from Germany has found the cure for her medically incurable disease in the unlikeliest of places – a church in Lagos, Nigeria.

Nicole Wezolek came to The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations (SCOAN) from her European base on a wheelchair after she was diagnosed with the debilitating disease of multiple sclerosis.

Medical doctors had pronounced her a ticking time-bomb with little less than a year to live as her entire body became increasingly numb and failed to respond to all treatment.

Having watched T.B. Joshua’s famed miracles on YouTube, Nicole decided to take the journey to Lagos, Nigeria, accompanied by her mother Marefe.

Sitting in the church on Sunday 15th January 2017, Pastor T.B. Joshua approached her and gave a word of prophecy that she was plagued by a suicidal spirit and depression, facts her mother instantly confirmed.

A video released by Emmanuel TV’s YouTube channel on Saturday 28th January 2017 shows Miss Wezolek falling heavily to the ground after Joshua’s prayer, the unusual contortions of her body showing the extent of the multiple sclerosis.

The following Sunday, Nicole and her mother returned to The SCOAN to testify to her total healing.

Showing her official card from the German government which classified her as a disabled person requiring the constant assistance of someone, Nicole said that feeling had returned to her body for the first time in one year after the prayer.

“The numbness is gone,” she told congregants. “I can feel my body one hundred percent and I’m happy that I can walk again.”

To cap off their miraculous Nigerian adventure, T.B. Joshua gave the duo $2,000 on their return to Germany.

“It’s overwhelming,” Marefe tearfully concluded, “I am touched with all your help.”

Jollof Rice Made Me Go To UNN – Pastor Adeboye

THE general overseer of Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has said that jollof rice and chicken being enjoyed by the students of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, UNN, way back in 1962, made him to choose the UNN as a university where he would do his first degree. Adeboye who was awarded with an honorarily doctorate degree of Doctor of Divinity, DD by the University on Tuesday, said that he developed interest in the University when he went with his fellow students on an excursion to UNN in 1962 and saw students eating jollof rice with half a chicken.

The cleric said that when he saw the way the students were enjoying then, he decided that he God permitted, he would come to UNN to study and lucky enough, the following year, 1963, he gained admission into the prestigious University. Carried by what he saw, Adeboye said that, “I took a pebble from the ground asked God to make me come to the University. The following year, 1963, God answered my prayers.” Adeboye however regretted that he could not graduate from the University as he left in 1966 without a degree. He expressed joy, however, that sixty years later, he has now been awarded a doctorate degree from the same University and professors call him, ‘daddy.’ “I left UNN in 1966 without a degree. Sixty years later, I have gotten a degree from UNN, now not as a first degree but a doctorate degree. That is why I feel elated. I am overwhelmed,” he said. Speaking at the occasion, Pro-chancellor of the University, Mr. Emmanuel Ukala, said that Adeboye deserved the honourary degree because he was a man of achievement. “It is necessary to point out, distinguished ladies and gentlemen, that the University of Nigeria places high premium on positive, and the road to the attainment of its honourary degree is quite tight indeed. “As a result, anyone that successfully moves through the tight rope deserves our honour and veneration. I, therefore congratulate Pastor E. A Adeboye for his selection for the award of the honourary degree of the University. Welcome on board as a significant member of the den of lions and lionesses,” Ukala represented by the vice chancellor, Prof. Benjamin Ozumba said.

A Rapist, Cultist And Robber Confesses At TB Joshua's Church (photos)

As shared on facebook by TB Joshua Ministries

CONFESSIONS OF A CULTIST, RAPIST AND ROBBER!!!

The rays of moonlight did little to soften the sickening scene. As the clock struck midnight, they struck his body with even more aggression. Agonizing cries rented the dark forest. A concoction was hurriedly prepared. A vow undertaken, shrouded in secrecy. And blood exchanged. The initiation was complete; the destruction had only just begun…

Christian by name; satan by nature. The Kogi State indigene was already a drunkard and drug addict when a ‘friend’ approached him in university one day. A seemingly innocent invitation for a night out of drinks turned into something much more sinister when a group of ominous men clad in black led him to a forest in the dead of night. The young man was initiated that night into a dangerous secret cult. Thereafter, what was already bad became much worse!

Christian followed his fellow cultists out for armed robbery operations, regularly committing atrocities such as rape to unwilling victims he and his colleagues terrorized. Uncontrollable anger became his slogan and only slight respite would come when blood had flowed and damage caused. The once bright, intelligent student left university, covering his body with weird tattoos, each with its own spiritual consequence. Various flings with ladies finally culminated in an unwanted pregnancy, Christian choosing to marry the lady in question whilst continuing in extra-marital affairs. During her pregnancy, he would beat her regularly to the point where she was hospitalized.

Forced to visit The SCOAN by his insistent mum, who even separated from her husband over his atrocities, Christian reluctantly sat in the service last week when Prophet T.B. Joshua began mass prayer. As God’s power descended, the demons of cultism rescinded! He found himself sprawling on the floor, an incredible weight lifted from his once heavy shoulders. Deliverance had come!

The following night, an incredible revelation came. Christian saw himself in the midst of smokers and worldly revelers when someone tapped him on the shoulder. It was Prophet T.B. Joshua. Beckoning on him, he led him from the darkness to a room filled with light and worshipers of every tribe, race and nationality. Stunned by the brilliance of the light, Christian struggled to look up where he beheld a golden throne, gleaming in splendor and glory. “Your name is Christian”, a voice from above boomed. “Follow the meaning of your name – Christ-like.” Waking up in a pool of sweat, confirmation from Heaven had come. Freedom!
Reminding the congregation and viewers all over the world of Romans 12:1, Christian advised today’s youth to submit themselves to God because the same God that delivered him can also deliver them too.

El-rufai Donates Land To Methodist Church

Governor Nasir Elrufai of Kaduna State has promised to provide additional land for building of Methodists church in Kafanchan, Southern Kaduna

The governor who made the promise when he received the prelate of the Methodist Church Dr. Samuel Chukwuemeka Kanu Uche in his office also urged the Church not relocate from their present location.

He said: “I visited your church in Kafanchan after the violence. We are willing to give you another plot of land in Kafanchan, but please consider using it to build an additional church.

“We request that you do not abandon or relocate the church from your present site. Let us not succumb to the agents of blackmail and division.

“Your neighbors in Kafanchan must accept the right of that church to remain there. The current church should be rebuilt and maintained as a symbol of the right to worship freely.”

Malam El-Rufai said that the government is committed to securing the area and promoting a return to normalcy.

He disclosed that 10 mobile police squadrons are now deployed to the affected local governments, along with two battalions of the army.

He further requested that the religious leaders should discourage the tendency to allow criminals to hide behind religion.

“When individuals have problems or disputes, they should not be allowed to mobilize emotions by escalating their differences into an ethnic or religious conflict.”

Malam El-Rufai thanked the Methodists for showing solidarity with the people and government of Kaduna State in this trying moment.

Earlier in his remarks, the prelate of the Methodist Church Dr. Samuel Chukwuemeka Kanu Uche urged Governor El-Rufai not to relent in his quest to restore peace and security in southern Kaduna.

Dr. Uche, who was speaking when he visited Malam El-Rufai in Kaduna, told the governor that he should take the blames flying around as the price of leadership.

“We note that you are being blamed over the violence in southern Kaduna. Please take that as the price of leadership. We know that the issue has been happening before your government. I remember the 1987 events vividly.

“We call on the people of Kaduna State to accept each other, to be tolerant, and to say no to violence. I have served in Kano. I do not see why we should fight each other. Nobody can Christianise or Islamise Nigeria. Let us learn to live together in peace. Religion should preserve lives. Anybody who kills is a criminal. Those who sponsor killings should be arrested.”

Dr. Uche, who was accompanied by the Methodist Bishops of Kaduna and Kano, said he came in solidarity with the people of Kaduna State. He informed Malam El-Rufai that the MedtodistChurch in Kafanchan was vandalized during the 19th December 2016 riot in Kafanchan. He requested for a new plot of land so that they can relocate the church.

“My church is affected by the violence in Kafanchan. We want your assistance with land to relocate the church and to rebuild it. We thank you for the plots of land you allocated to the Methodist Church in Abuja. I have seen your signature on the certificates of occupancy, and I know that you have nothing against the Church.”

Olisa Metuh Collapses Inside Church, Now Hospitalised (Full Details)

Former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Olisa Metuh, is on admission at the National Hospital Abuja, after he collapsed during church service on Sunday.

His lawyer, Mr. Onyechi Ikpeazu (SAN), told a Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday that Metuh was rushed to the hospital after he collapsed while rising to sing in his church in Abuja on Sunday.

His lawyer, Mr. Onyechi Ikpeazu (SAN), told a Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday that Metuh was rushed to the hospital after he collapsed while rising to sing in his church in Abuja on Sunday.

The lawyer told the trial judge, Justice Okon Abang this, while giving reasons for the absence of Metuh from court, where the ex-spokesperson for the PDP, is being prosecuted along with his company, Destra Investment Limited, for offences relating to separate transactions of N400m and $2m.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission is prosecuting Metuh and Destra Investment Limited on seven counts, including fraud involving N400m which he allegedly received from the Office of the National Security Adviser in 2014 without any justification.

In response, prosecuting counsel, Mr. Sylvanus Tahir, said the court should disregard the submission of the defence lawyer and go ahead with the proceedings because of the absence of a medical report.
