My Contract With YBNL Has Expired, Am On My Own For Now - Adekunle Gold

Nigerian hip hop singer, Adekunle Gold has confirmed in a brief caht with PlanetTV, that he no longer belongs under Olamide's label YBNL.

The 'Sade' crooner claims that he his currently on his own and has no plan of starting his own label anytime soon.

In his own words;
"My contract has expired and that's it. In YBNL you don't renew contract. Olamide signed us for two years, so that by yourself, you can hustle and make things happen. I don't have my record label now, so I'm on my own for now... I don't know about record label and I don't have the vision to have one now."

This suggest that the popular folklore singer is up for grabs for music company's in the country who might need such talent in their music label. Likely candidates who might weigh in on signing the multiple award winning singer include, Mavin records, TripleMG and Chocolate City. Best of luck to the Gold singer.

Olamide Joins March For Nationwide Protest

In a quick response to fans calling him corrupt for collecting money for campaigns, Olamide has joined the protest crew, and vows to march with his fellow people on the 5th of February 2017

He posted this picture with the caption:

Olamide Akinsete:
FIRST MASSIVE NATIONWIDE PROTESTS ON THE 5TH OF FEBRUARY, 2017.

A call for good governance.
A call for urgent explanation into the reckless economic downturn nationwide.
A call for nationwide protests as we say No to the Executive, No to legislatures, No to judiciary... You have all failed us.
We the people are tired. We can no longer continue with all of you. All your excuses and mistakes are not funny. We do not wish to continue with a system and government that is not working but afflicting the people. We the people of this country not living under the privileges of government allowances and remuneration have now accepted to take the bull by the horn to come out and protest this obnoxious and baseless policies and excuses of the government of the day.

Where are the recovered looted funds?
Why do we still have the executive arms and legislatures still enjoying their salaries and allowances while we hear there's no money to pay workers?
Why do we still see ceaseless power failures with no explanation and hope of getting out of it unlike before?
Why do we keep seeing peace talks in Niger Delta, fulani heardsmen and ipob without any solutions being reached, while the strategies keeps aggravating the people involved as political leaders stage forums to extort funds in the name of addressing their subjects?
Why did we have petrol price rise to 145 for the sake of global oil price crash and removal of subsidy but such price is still being maintained despite significant re-awakening of the oil price from $30/barrel to $56/barrel?
Who is to be held accountable for the sudden and continuous hike in price of commodities in the market, where for the first time in history, Nigeria is suddenly selling kerosene at 400 naira per litre as against 50 naira per litre, diesel at 300 naira per litre as against 100 naira per litre and petrol from 87 naira to 145 naira? Yet maintaining the same systems, environment and maybe a lesser money spending government.

Top On Air Personality Blasts Olamide Over His Annual Concert (Read Here)

Radio and TV Personality Adenike Oyetunde has written an open letter to Olamide about his much talked about Olamide Live In Concert Show – OLIC. Read below:

“Dear Olamide, what HAPPENED? What!!!

I attended #Olic2 and without a doubt, it was by far my BEST event last year. I talked, and talked about it; everyone around me that didn’t go, knew they had to this year.

Imagine my excitement when I saw these pictures by TyBello, I knew #Olic3 was definitely going to be a hit. I needed to see ‘Olamide Live In Concert’ *coughs. In my life, not even at either Canaanland or Redemption Camp had I EVER been stuck in such traffic.

No clear plans on controlling humans (forget that we are peculiar here). The plan was go with Uber. There was a change, and a friend’s friend took @mayowaekpo and I. What should have taken maybe 30minutes max, turned to two years in traffic.

Nobody deemed it fit to tell us that no cars were going into Eko hotel; we were all just hoping; stuck in traffic. Having to walk so far, isn’t always my first option; for obvious reasons.

Then I got into the hall, Olamide, why?
I came in just as you were done with your first outing and I figured, he’ll be back. You came back ONCE, while I was there and you played CD. Olamide, CD??? I’m still too lost.

CD… Like, ALL that for ‘DJ, track 2’.
Wait first, collect your money from the sound people; BAD, BAD sound. Even Adekunle (God bless his heart) who did LIVE for us, they sha spoilt his sound.

I, Adenike Oyetunde came to see You Olamide, LIVE, (it was a complimentary ticket, FYI), and you hounded me with Comedy. HOW??? How does that even work?

Alibaba’s January 1st Concert is coming, I’ll get comedy there, WHY, did you succumb, Why? I thought you had it all figured out; but, awon aye sold this BAD idea to you.

By the way, were you at Asa’s show? If not, PLEASE, Watch the CD. That’s what LIVE IN CONCERT is on about. I was TOO disappointed and I can’t hide it.

Excellency is KEY. You had ONE year to plan. I honestly didn’t see ANY plan oh; at least, to me. Of course, I still danced, I screamed, I took videos; but, from last year; it could have been WAY better.

I will not comment on that uncle that was jumping arand with you!!! Give us what we ‘paid’ for Nigerian Artiste, PLEASE. People hustled to GET tickets.”

HipTV Explains Why Olamide’s Concert Wasn’t Covered, See Nigerians Reaction

HipTV has explained why they didn’t air Olamide’s Live in Concert 3.

According to a statement they just released:

@baddosneh (Olamide) not attending #theheadies2016 had nothing to do with HipTv not covering OLIC3.
The organisers did not want the event live on TV. Unlike the last two, HipTv was not responsible for the production and this has nothing to do with our relationship with YBNL.  We are cool, as a matter of fact, we were in attendance.

Reactions from fans who didn’t buy their explanation:
